California Wage and Hour Compliance Laws 2020

DESCRIPTION

Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) signed 870 bills into law heading into 2020.  Many of them will affect California employers. We have invited HR Pro Eric Cook, SPHR, SHRM-SCP to talk about employment law and wage and hour compliance issues that California employer’s need to know about for 2020 and beyond.

In this session he provide and overview of California’s overtime regulations, reporting time pay, and unique classifications for exempt employees. We will also examine paid leaves and requirements for meal and rest periods so you can administer your wage and hour policies with confidence.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Eric  Cook, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has extensive experience presenting, teaching and implementing great HR practices. He was honored as a Runner-Up Award winner in the first ever Portland Business Journal HR Leadership Awards. During his career, he has held several senior HR positions, including the HR and Operations Manager for an award-winning interactive marketing agency and as HR Director for a prestigious law firm. Additionally, Eric brings valuable experience from his work with publicly traded companies, professional services firms, government agencies, and non-profits.
